If you wish to cheer the team on you have to practice saying 'Porto, Porto' but will need to get the pronunciation correct. Try saying 'poor toe, poor toe', this may even afford you a smile from the nearest supporter wearing the famous blue and white club colours.
The Seducing Effect of Serralves Museum:
The Servalles museum is situated in the leafy northern suburbs of Porto, a few blocks from the Atlantic shoreline at Foz.

Your First 'Splash' :
Porto, Portugal's second city, straddles a gorge where the great Douro river enters the Atlantic Ocean. In the days when ships had sails, manoeuvring past the sandbars to enter the mouth of the river must have been a challenge.
On the southern bank of the river lie the cellars of the famous Port brands, and the home of an almost unknown yet deliciously cool cocktail known as a 'splash' or offically in Portuguese, a 'Porto Tonico'.

Should you decide to make this tongue-tingling drink at home and hold a 'Splash' party, here is the recipe; take a tall glass with crushed ice, add an inch of white port, a small amount of tonic water and a slice of lemon, it is as simple as that. Here's to your first 'Porto Tonico' and remember that Alec put you on to it.
